Jonathan S Tomhave, PhD

On his father's side, Jonathan is an enrolled (Hidatsa) member of the Three Affiliated Tribes of Fort Berthold; on his mother's side, a descendant of the Ho-Chunk and Prairie Band Potawatomi. That identity is the foundation of everything that follows. He holds a PhD in Communication and works as a cultural consultant and game designer. His primary consulting work has been for Wizards of the Coast on the Dungeons and Dragons IP. He co-designed Potlatch, maintains its Tabletop Simulator versions, and his scholarly work examines Indigenous representation and power in games and multimedia, including a forthcoming chapter in an edited volume on gaming and anthropology.
