Jeanette%20Bushnell%2011-23-2020_edited.

Jeanette is Pembina Band enrolled with Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, Belcourt, North Dakota where her mother lived. Her father’s family came to Turtle Island in 1632 from France via England and his mother is Irish. Her ancestors resisted – as Huguenots in France and with Louis Reil in Canada – and she resists, primarily with other indigenous women who sometimes form organizations such as Women of All Red Nations.  Her knowledges come from indigenous elder scholars and a PhD in Women Studies from the University of Washington. As a semi-retired faculty, she continues to teach university courses in indigenous philosophy.
