TPrather01_edited.png

Tylor Prather is a descendant of Irish immigrants, Black Americans and Indigenous ancestors on his mothers side, Scottish & Welsh Immigrants on his fathers side. He studied American Indian Studies at the University of Washington before moving to Winnipeg Manitoba where he now practices massage therapy, runs a wellness clinic and teaches Anatomy and Physiology. His areas of interest focus on game design, game mechanics and teaching through games. Tylor’s history with gaming spans over 3 decades, from Screens, boards, and cards to theater of the mind. He has played and run campaigns for every edition of D&D. His games focus on exploring the space between the screen and the players, how the creation of homebrew, settings and mechanics teach players about their world in and out of game spaces. More importantly, asking how do the mechanics we design reinforce or challenge colonial and capitalist mindsets?
